Starting as a clothing and luggage designer, the founder Ian Mankin, became an established name by designing clothing for the Beatles, as seen on the album cover “Revolver”, and US President Ronald Reagan.
Ian’s ethos of elegant simplicity and dedication to the creation of fabrics of the highest quality still drives this unique brand for natural British woven fabrics. From 31st July 2019, Ian Mankin ensures that all of our fabrics are made from natural, recycled or certified organic fibres.
Still, now all fabrics are designed and woven in the own weaving mill in Burnley, Lancashire, the birthplace of the world’s industrialised cotton weaving industry.

The fabrics
The ‘Contour’ collection is one of the latest additions to the extensive natural fibre fabric range of Ian Mankin, focussing on the inherent beauty of natural yarns to create elegantly textured semi-plains and structured motifs in a soft and feminine colour palette.
The new ‘Ticking Archive – One’ collection comprises 50 Ticking Stripe fabrics, including 34 new colours, in two new ground shades of off-white and rustic flax. The collection focuses on the smaller, classic Ian Mankin Ticking. Designed and skilfully woven in Lancashire, these ever-popular fabrics have a classic design style guaranteed to endure ever-changing trends and offer durability that can withstand the pressures of modern living.
Our fibres are 100% natural and organic and offer timeless and elegant designs.
We are committed to producing fabrics and furnishings of the highest possible quality, at our own weaving mill in Burnley, Lancashire. Curious to experience the new Contour and Ticking Archive One collection?
